| Never again will I move across the country. I can not complain to much, I guess. We had no issues with the move itself, just a logistical nightmare and a lot of work. Neighbors are friendly, like all of the people we have met so far, and the area appears to be nice. We both start work Monday so we had get as much stuff unpacked and ready to go as soon as possible. Couple of questions: Our cars need to get inspected, where does one go for that? What do they look for? Her drive is going to long since she works on Riverside, but mine is shorter, I think. What kind of commute times am I looking at from Leander (Scottsdale) to Metric BLVD? |

Inspections are pretty basic. Find a local Pep Boys/Firestone/NTW. Takes about 15 minutes if there is no line, and they'll do it for about $35. They'll want to see that lights, horn, wipers and brakes work. Commute on 183 from Leander to Metric between 7:00 & 8:00 AM is probably 45 minutes plus most work days - depends upon where you are starting from. |

Stay away from PEPBOYS and Firestone, they takes hours to do an inspection. I used Kwik Kar on 183 and Ronald Reagan very fast and no B.S.. There is also 2 small inspection stations on 183 one in a old gas station they also do A/C work. The other is between a pawn shop and body shop. Both are quick and honest.
The inspection with emissions is $28.75, price is set buy state law, but stations can offer discount coupons |
