I'm looking at a NIB Keltec shotgun for $700 + 20 shipping, coming from Sherman.
Do I just send him the $720 and hope for the best? Tell 10Ring to call me as soon as it comes in, keep my money and walk away? Thanks. Mods, if this is in the wrong place please move it-I just didn't know where else to put it. |

Use a credit card. |

Individual. I have a phone number and address.
I'm almost more concerned about buying a dud gun than in getting ripped of. I think I'll do a quick search on GB and see how close the dealers are selling them for. I have to remember the first time I bought a gun on this forum! I'm trying to teach my kids to have faith. I made them volunteer at the church this morning to show we were grateful for everything we had. Well, if I go forward and this blows up I'll be looking for some Sherman locals to get some payback! Thank you for your response. |

if its to good to be true it probably is. If he cant take a CC or paypal at least I would walk away. I would rather spend another 200 bucks and get it from a reputable dealer than risk my 700 at a good chance of getting nothing for it.
If you go for it please let us know Phone number could be just a google # and untraceable. His address could be a PO box in a mail box place. So at the least run a mapquest and find out where the address is and if its legit. |

Driving up 5.5-6 hours is not a possibility.
The phone number(he called me from one)isn't listed openly but I haven't searched GA's site thoroughly. He sent me an address(apt # included)and asked for my ffl's info. Several ads I've looked at say he gun wasn't a good fit for the seller; I want to be able to get out of it okay in case it isn't a good fit for me! I will check with Tomball Pawn and see if they have one they can let go of cheap. Thanks for helping help! |

Thanks Ponyboy, but seller declined. I spoke with my ffl and she said if I follow the rules(don't bypass the GAME site)and use trrackable funds(uspsmo)I should be fine. She said she done several of them. I think I will roll the dice. If seller declined to go through an FFL, that is a HUGE red flag for me, especially for the price.... I would walk if your not willing to drive for a FTF |
| Regardless of the rumors, a USPS money order provides virtually no additional security. Your free to do what you want but if the seller wasn't willing to drop the gun off at the biggest gun store in town and get cash then it seems like something is wrong with that deal. I'd venture carefully. |

I PM'd Ponyboy the facts and publicly I'll just say the guy can't get to the shop.
I realize I'm going against the current on this but I'll roll the dice this once. I will say the guy had a bunch of Keltec pistols and the shorty; when I checked yesterday he had one pistol left. Apparently he's doing some business. If I get fucked I'll getmy fire blanket and beready for my just deserts(sp?)! |
|
Well, fuck. But not fucked!
I went to work(make money before spending money)and as I was about to leave to go to the PO in got an email from GA saying this is a fraud. All it cost me was a stamp. And of course I'll be open and receptive to a bunch of crap from you guys who tried to tell me not to cheap out! |

If you're on a budget, but still want to get yourself some nice guns, check this guy's listings on Gunbroker:
http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?IncludeSellers=480969 His store is Out_Door_Sports, and he has some nice stuff listed. It's kinda on the high side of retail, but his "Easy Pay" plan is hard to beat for convenience. He ships fast and is a good guy to deal with. I've bought five guns from him in the last year, and each transaction was flawless. |

Far easier to take gun to local FFL drop off and walk out with cash vs having to ship it in-state to someone. ETA Shoulda read whole thread..... |

Thanks doubleclaw. I looked but I didn't see a KSG, which is what my budget is currently. Thanks RenegadeX. The fact that there are folks here that will bump me back onto the track is why I always try to buy here first! Thanks Mike. Keep an eye out, he had one not too long ago, and his inventory changes from week to week |
