Women’s weapons training
Tiger Valley will be hosting a Women’s only pistol training class, June 21st 2014. This class is designed to introduce the female shooter to safe weapons handling. That being said we start from the basics, covering how handguns work, pros and cons of each type of weapon system, grip, stance trigger control, sight picture. Selection of weapon type and how to carry and conceal weapons as well as shooting through the bottom of a purse will be discussed as well as practical application. We will delve into the psychology of offensive and defensive fighting. Our goal is to give the new shooter a sound over all exposure to the hand gun, to make wise choices as to types and carry techniques that will benefit them, not from the perspective of a gun shop owner that pushes them into a weapon they can’t handle because of size or caliber. I have extensive experience teaching women, having run a Police Academy firearms program for 8 years; we turned out excellent female shooters that qualified just like the male counter parts. I never lost a female recruit to firearms training issues. To make this event easy and cost effective while the wife is training the husband will be in the next bay for a free day of open shooting. They are welcome to shoot rifle or pistol. At noon Tiger Valley will provide lunch for all attending. All weapons and ammunition will be supplied for the women class. Those wanting to shoot their own weapon may bring them along with ammunition. Cost of the class is $250.00 |

My wife and Sister in law are planning on going to this.
Maduce (TJ) does a great job in working with woman learning to shoot or to enhance their ability to shoot well. He has worked with my wife in the past. He tailors the class to not overwhelm the ladies physically or mentally. The men are not allowed to keep down the possibility of “Here let me load that Mag for you..” That way they can learn to handle everything on their own. He provides weapons to allow them to learn what is comfortable and safe and what can work for her. |
| There is a desire for a class at Elm Fork on this topic. The only was we could do this at Elm Fork is to split the class into two session, hosted on Tuesday evening. Elm Fork, being a public facility is deafeningly during the day and all but impossible to teach at. In our next news letter I will post and see it there is an interest in a two evening class. Thanks for the input guys as always we aim to please. T.J. |
