I hear, universally, bad things about some of their employees. Ditto. Also, their quality control leaves a lot to be desired. Their first batch of IPA, which I got a keg of, was as good as any West Coast IPAs I've had. Since then, it's been boring to the point of now on my ignore list. |

I had their IPA on tap at Blackstar Coop here in Austin several months ago and loved it. I agree that it compared well to good west coast IPAs that I like. However, the sixer I picked up at Sunrise on Anderson Ln wasn't in the same class. I'll give 'em another try because I'd like to see a Texas brewer who can put out decent product, but there are simply too many other choices and life too short to drink mediocre beer.
I think the logo on the can is hilarious, but I have a twisted sense of humor. |

I hear, universally, bad things about some of their employees. Go on... What have you heard? ![]() I heard from one of their customers that they have a general arrogance. Not sure what he meant when it was said and that was a while ago. In addition to having a good product, in my opinion anyway, I've heard good things from store owners/operators about LB. Something about one needing a tap handle and LB made a special trip out to deliver one with nothing else. Good customer service in other words. The microbrew world is getting crowded and you have to do something other than have a great product to set yourself apart. Now there's this Community Brewing that's in Dallas that I'm seeing around but haven't tried yet and 903 up in Sherman. It's a good time to be beer knurd. Jester |

Franconia in McKinney. That's the one that had the 10' wave of beer come at a beer tour crowd after a fermenter explosion http://www.straightbourbon.com/forums/showthread.php?17326-Fermenter-Explosion-at-Franconia-Brewery-in-McKinney-TX |

It really is a good time for beer. How many local breweries do we have now? Rahr Deep Ellum Revolver Peticolas Martin House Lakewood Community Not to mention some other good ones from around the state. Yup, lots of great beer in Dallas these days. My favorites: Rahr's Winter Warmer Deep Ellum Dallas Blond Revolver Blood & Honey Peticolas Velvet Hammer Lakewood Lager Community Inspiration Ale Franconia Wheat & Kolsch 903 Coconut Ale World of Beer usually has some from each on tap, and I'm a regular. Though my kegerator is currently housing a 1/2 keg of Abita Purple Haze. |

I've been spending a lot of time at WOB lately. In fact, I'm headed there in a few minutes! If they had wings, I think I'd just bring a cot and move in. The owner is a arfcommer... when they opened the one up across from my office in Dallas, he had the GM hook us up. |

I've heard rumors that they might close down due to high rent costs. They did get a liquor license and should start selling liquor soon though... |
