Finally getting some much needed rain in the Wichita Falls area. Light show and thunder most of the night with some very heavy rains, no totals as of yet.
BUT.... freezing rain and sleet starting to show up at 6am. It's wet, and I'll take it, but what the hell, It's April 10th, where did that come from???? |

All these home and garden shows on the radio keep saying no more cold weather and I just laugh. We all need the rain. |

Denton county checking in (Little Elm) - went to bed last night to 74º temps and moderate winds. Woke up at 6am this morning to the power blinking on and off. And it's 42º outside and raining. I'll gladly take the rain - wee need it. I could do without the cold.

Live near houston just came through and it is misting rain.
I went up to the armpit as I call WF to Help my grand parents right after the big tornado. whole overpasses were missing and big stores were gone. My grand father lived at the end of sunset lane. last house on the left up next to the canel across from the golf course. He could not get grandmother down into the shelter so they watched the tornado cross the town figureing that if it took them it would get both. That was a bad ass storm. When I got up there they were still spooked from it . every time a cloud popped up they started getting jumpy. I am a ham radio operator and every repeater was running some type of skywarn. We have lots of thunderstorms here and never worry but they take it serious in the armpit. |

I had a ringside seat just far enough south of town to be safe and have a great view of the destruction. No way to adequately describe what feeling I was having watching mother nature at work and knowing the pain people were suffering. |

We got over an inch of rain last week here on the south side, fullclip. What part of the city do you live? I'm just down the street from Texas Knifeworks & Guns. I remember Black Tuesday like it was just yesterday. Strangely enough,Wichita Falls hasn't been hit since then and Tornado Alley seems to have moved to Ar,MS,and AL. The house I now live in was completely destroyed in 1979 & rebuilt in 1980. |
