I know it's a little off topic - but does anyone have a recommendation for an Austin area gunsmith who can put a recoil pad on a shotgun for me?

Thanks

Do a quick search.  This topic comes up every week and there are multiple threads about it.

As near as I can determine the search function does not allow searching of the Hometown forums.

What shotgun recoil pad requires a gunsmith? <Not being a smart ass>

Might call Aaron Hayes of Hayes Custom Guns.

He shoots a lot of local matches and is a great guy.  EXCELLENT 1911 work.

Does anyone know of a local 'smith that specializes in revolvers?

I've got an inherited Victory .38 Special CTG. The Yoke, Extractor Rod, and Center Pin are all bent up, causing the cylinder to bind and not spin freely. Everything else seems to be ok. I just want it to be shootable.

McBrides would be a good spot for revolver repair.

to reply to TX_Road_Warrior - Good quality shotgun butt pads are oversize.  Installing them involves attaching them to the stock and then grinding down the edges until they are flush with the butt stock.  When the stock is worth 4 figures, you want to make sure that the person doing the install knows what he's doing.
