Going down to do some work on Monday and wondering what's there to do.

Nothing. Not a thing. You will have to drive up towards San Antonio to find anything to do.

Yeap you're right, I'm down there all the time for work (oilfield) and there is absolutely nothing to do!!

You are an hour away from the Kickapoo Indian Casino in Eagle Pass. (It's not Vegas.)

Other than counting cars driving by or rattlesnakes, there isn't much to do or see, unless you find a hog hunt.

I sold drill bits out of Cotulla for 6 months.

That fucking town is the epitome of an asshole. Not a single fucking thing to do....

Fuck, I'm pissed that you even mentioned that town.

Nothing to do, as mentioned. Best advice is work until you only want to sleep. Get it done and go home. If you are working west of Cotulla, be "extreeeemly" careful driving, javelina, deer, cattle, f'ing rock truck drivers, bad roads, 45 mph minivans, 80 mph F250's and everything else... Be careful. Don't know where you are coming from but it is different here.

Pack a sidearm.

Don't stop for unmanned gates, don't get out of your truck. I have heard of a lot of carjackings where they set up gates and wait for you to get out to open them.

I was down there for a year and a half and never had issues, but I was fracking and we always had big crews and a lot of traffic.

Good luck!

I pretty much lived in Pleasanton for a year, 2 weeks at a time. Worked all around Cotulla all the way to Gonzales. API Perforating. Partnered up with Pumpco 1 fracking wells for EOG.

I've done some hunting with my dad on the Briscoe Ranch. Not a fucking thing there..great hunting and equally great Mexican food though.

Actually, Laredo's a shorter drive.

Nuevo Laredo can be pretty entertaining.

I ran at a track meet in Cotulla, circa 1972. Won medals in the 440 and mile relay!

I can't see 440 yards now.

I have not been there since before the boom kicked off. Spent about seven months there in 2006 and 7. It is your typical south Texas small town. Lots of Mexicans as in whites are definitely the minority. Really nothing much to do there or even close by. Laredo and San Antonio are the closest big places but they are an hour plus drive. My advice is work long hours get your work done and head home.

Cotulla is pretty dead.

Laredo is a step up, but dont set your sights too high.

I rather live in Fowlerton. Alice is not to far. If you like to fish. Choke Canyon is near by.

Choke is fun.  I like the whole Three Rivers area.
