Took my CHL class yesterday, and passed of course.   The instructor tells us it's faster to submit everything online, ie: scan and attach forms from the class.  Now, PRIOR to the class they recommended that you submit your state app to speed up the process.  So, last night, I rush home to attach my stuff and submit.  The problem is my app appears to be in "pending receipt of materials".  I can't seem to edit it now.   Is my only option to mail everything in at this point?

thanks all.

Go to the tx dps chl website and look at the FAQ section... you have to submit some materials.. class completion, photos via SNAIL MAIL and you have to get your fingerprints done by an  "L1"? or something location.. some CHL classes are set up to have in-class fingerprinting...then those are submitted by the company that took them...once the dps gets everything they will review it... Took like 80 days or so to get mine...

took the class I think Sat. Oct 20th, 2012..mailed paperwork and had fingerprints done by the following tue. or wed. and just finally got the CHL yesterday in the MAIL... moved here from MI in august..and have a MI CPL/CCW/CHL which is currently valid here through reciprocity...so the POLICE say and so the DPS says but I think since I am no longer a RESIDENT of MI that it isn't valid..don't matter I'm covered three ways now! ;)

I was arrested like 14 years ago but never convicted and records were expunged and I think that held it all up...pretty stupid though as I have had two licenses in MI  AFTER the arrest... figured I would get the Texas CHL quicker..but nope.. took the same amount of time basically..although I did not notice any vans following me around down here..only the first time I got the CCW in Michigan..not sure if they are not following me or they got better at not being seen... lol

oh and PENDING RECEIPT of MATERIALS means they are waiting for your passport photos/class completion fingerprints.. they have the app you filled out online...I think you only fill out a form/app online and you can fill that out and mail it as well... didn't seem to speed anything up for me either way. You should be able to find a CHECKLIST online that tells you what you still need to do.

Fingerprinting is a PAIN ITA they do it by appointment and are generally booked for a week in advance.. I drove two hours to get in earlier!
