MAST Solutions is happy to announce the addition of Rich McCusker.  Rich has proven to be instrumental in our direction...our dedication to students and our community.  After more than 10 years on the SWAT detail and 5 years on a Special Operations Direct Action Unit, his experience and leadership has proven invaluable.

Tactical Handgun I (1 of 2 four hour days)

Carbine fundamentals 101 (1 of 2 four hour days)

Objective
The goal of this course is that the students will demonstrate the fundamentals of marksmanship and demonstrate handgun manipulation techniques on the live-fire range.  This lesson is a practical exercise conducted at the live-fire range. Each student will provide their own firearm, holster, magazines, and related equipment.

Kit  
Each student will need to bring a pistol that is .380 caliber or larger, shotgun or carbine with all necessary support gear (at least four spare magazines), a duty belt that will carry your mag carrier and holster “snug” to your waistline.  Eye protection and hearing protection (muffs) are mandatory for all attendees.  We recommend that you wear boots or tennis shoes (closed toe), comfortable jeans or kahkis, a hat, sunscreen, “bug juice,” fluids, and bring light snacks (power bars etcetera).    
Ammunition:  300-400 rounds of factory ammunition in the caliber of your firearm.  

POI (points of instruction)
Firearms safety brief and understanding of terms and weapon components.  Cover the basic elements of marksmanship.  The operator will have a working knowledge of the draw from the holster, the firearm ready positions, primary malfunctions, loading and unloading procedure, basic shooting platforms, tactical reloads,  and much more.  This is a four hour course and is part one of two.

Carbine Operator (two days 16 hours)

   Location:  CSM Ranger Range
   Dates: November 10th and 11th 2012

   Cost:  $480.00 Includes class, lodging, meals, and hydration
   Deposit:  Non-refundable deposit of $150.00 is required
   Ammo requirements: 800rds Primary and 200rds of secondary

Objective
The goal of this course is that the students will demonstrate the fundamentals of carbine marksmanship and demonstrate manipulation techniques on the live-fire range.  This lesson is a practical exercise conducted at the live-fire range. Each student will provide their own carbine, handgun, holster, magazines, and related equipment.  This class includes both the primary and secondary weapon systems.  The curriculum covers use of the primary from zero meters to one-hundred meters.  We will cover and stress the use of the secondary in conjunction with the primary.  IRON SIGHTS will be used as primary sight system and standards.  Optics will be used for the remainder of class if you choose.  Reactive targeting system with 180 degree shoot capability.

Logistics:  
We will be staying at the range house as a group.  Included in the cost of the course is all food (three meals a day), beverages while on range including H2O, Gatorade, and some lights snacks.  Mornings and evenings a cleaning station is provided.  Accommodations to sleep 8 with additional room for cots, tents, sleeping bags, and sharing rooms.

   Carry methods/Sling selection
   Rifle work from 0-100 meters
   Stance, hinge point, and weapon “weld” for consistency
   Grip, sight picture and trigger control
   Recoil management
   iron sights and or vs. optics
   The various reloads- Pro’s Con’s
   Possible malfunctions of the rifle and how to remedy
   Strong and support side shooting while both stationary and on the move
   Shooting platforms
   Transition drills
   Barricades with movement

Kit:
A functional primary and a secondary (handgun) with proper holster.   A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) in question  is also recommended. Each student should have a minimum of 6 working magazines.

   Clothing suited and class appropriate as well as being seasonally appropriate
   Flip flops for shower
   Towel
   Rain gear / cold weather gear
   Ear pro

   Clear lenses for night shoots
   Baseball style hat recommended
   Primary weapon sling
   A rig that can carry a minimum of four (4) primary magazines on your person
   Functioning secondary weapon system, and three working magazines
   A holster and magazine pouch that will retain your equipment when moving

   Spare bulbs and batteries
   Scooby Snacks
   Weapons lube
   Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
