I will be in and out of the Houston area for several weeks and on the show schedule, I see about 4 different locations for gunshows. Could someone stack rank the locations for me? Which one is the best? I'm not familiar with the area.

If you are just talking about the locations I would rank them in this order:
Pasadena Convention Center Conroe Lone Star Convention Center Brown Convention Center downtown Houston Reliant Park My reasoning for this order is based on parking and security. At Pasadena and Conroe parking is free and reasonably close in. At Brown and Reliant you will spend as much on parking as on one ticket into the show and you will do some walking. I don't mind walking normally but walking with a load can be a problem. Unfortunately for me Pasadena and Conroe are both about 50 miles from my home but they are the ones I go to most often. IMHO the best shows are the HGCA show at Reliant and the High Caliber show at Brown or Pasadena. Last weekend I went to a new to me show just called the Pasadena Gun Show. It was crowded but there was plenty to see. Brown in downtown Houston has good shows but the parking and walk are risky if you are returning to your vehicle with new stuff and no loaded weapons. Reliant is difficult to get into and the parking spaces in Reliant Park were designed for small vehicles. The larger vehicles most of us drive leave the lanes so narrow it is hard to park correctly. Pasadena is my favorite venue. It is a long drive for me but the show seems more relaxed. There is some construction going on between the toll road and the facility at this time. |
