Looking for an AR armorer in the DFW area.  I have a new barrel on order & I will need someone to install it & check the headspace.
No rush, I just ordered the barrel today and the gas block wont ship for at least a week.

You might check the build it yourself forum.

Falarak has some great write ups on how to do this yourself.

It's easy, and you will get to learn more about your rifle.

Head space gauges are easy to  use, and lots of folks have them.

No thanks.
If I`m going to put something a few inches from my face that develops 55,00 PSI I want to know that its been done right.
Not hope that its been done right.

So basically what you are saying is that you are incapable of doing it right? One of the longest debates this place continues to have is if headspace needs to be checked. Hundreds of us have proven a gorilla can build a AR and not need to check headspace.

fyi...I'm not sure if you're aware that the installation of the barrel to the upper receiver has nothing to do with headspace.  Headspace is between the barrel, barrel extension and the bolt...pretty much the only thing that can be done is a headspace check with Go and No-Go gauges.  If the headspace is incorrect, the easiest thing to do is try another bolt....which will probably fail.  The problem is usually corrected by replacing the extension.

As an armorer in the army, I never saw a weapon fail a headspace check...even when bolts got mixed up between weapons.  I did see one where someone had managed to remove the extension and then reinstalled it a couple of degrees out.  The bolt just would not enter the extension because the lugs were colliding.
