| Anyone else having a bad problem with cicada killer's this year? I mow my parents lawn in Irving, the same house I grew up in, and the backyard is invested with them. They dig up these mounts of dirt all over the place. I have never seem them there in my life. I have done some research and they prefer dry conditions, however, my parents backyard is watered everyday and is a very healthy lawn! This things are freaking HUGE! |

Its their time to shine since their prey is at peak, if I'm correct. They're scary critters, glad they don't nest like yellow jackets!!!!
I have not had one show any hostile action towards me. Of course I give them a wide berth. I suspect they will be around till their prey fades or the cold weather arrives. Next year we may not see any. YMMV |
