| I am visiting a friend in TX this weekend and she wants to go shooting. I have been to the DFW gun range off of Mockingbird Lane but I was wondering if there is anything cheaper and/or closer to Frisco. Thanks in advance! |

link to all the "local" ranges in the State... http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=517 What kind of shooting do you want to do? Bullet Trap in Plano has an OK indoor range. For outdoor shooting, many folks (including myself) like Magnum out in Sanger (north of Denton). However, I don't recommend them if you are not an experienced shooter as there are no range safety officers on the range. You'll also want to call first to be sure they are open. A little farther drive will get you to Jacob's Plain in Greenville. They only had two 100 yard stations when I was out there last year (they were talking about increasing the distance to 200yards and adding stations), but they also have several 'tactical' bays. I believe they went through a change of management recently (owner passed and wife didn't want to manage the place). I'd call first to be sure they are not hosting an event. |
