Thought I'd let everyone know that may be interested, Irving Fire Department is going to be having a civil service test soon for Firefighter. They should be posting the exam date sometime soon as per civil service requirements, I just don't know when exactly. If interested, you can fill out this form to be notified of the test date or call strategic resources @ (972) 721-2696.
Fire Exam Here is more information if needed: http://www.ci.irving.tx.us/fire/employment-information.asp You don't have to be state certified, the city will send you to the fire academy and to UT Southwestern for EMT and then later for Paramedic. Its a good department, with good pay and benefits. Nick |

Thanks! Form filled out! Do you know what they do if you already are a cert. fire fighter, EMT and are in Paramedic school? If you are already state certified then they will send you through a 2 week Irving specific in service school at our academy and then out to a station. If you are in PM school now, it will just depend on where you are going, how much time you have left, and your hire date. HTH Nick |
