Just got back from a short trip. Went down to Jefferson for a couple days. Man what a cool litle town, lot of history.

Anyone from Jefferson? Like it? Seems like I saw a lot of places for sale.

Had a lease a few minutes away in Linden.  I'll always remember that place because the Exxon used to have a Burger King in it and I was taking a dump in there one time and had my pistol in the holster on the top of the toilet and it slid in the shitter when I stood up.

I took my wife there a few years ago and we stayed in a bed and breakfast, it was ok. We spent last weekend in Granbury, right off the square in a B&B. Much more of that small town feel.

And a cool antique shop on the square that sells old Colts!

Took the lady to Jefferson for July 4th a few years ago, stayed at a mom and pop B&B, took a guided boat tour on Caddo Lake, went over to Lake O' The Pines, saw the July 4th fireworks extravaganza on July 5th (the fireworks truck/company didn't show up until well after midnight).

Some fine country to see out that way...

Nice little catfish place in Uncertain and you have to take the steam paddle wheeler tour of Caddo Lake at sunset. Too cool.

Spent the day there with the wife a couple of years ago on our way to the boats.  Nice little town.  Looking forward to going back when we can spend the night.

They have a big Civil War re-enactment group there every year that would be pretty neat to see. Haunted hotel there too.

caddo was one of the best lake camp outs we had...went up the little cypress creek or the big cypress or what ever...about 26 miles we went thru jeff, then kept going...seen rail road cars used for camp spots...went under a tressel then two big power-lines and we were in the lak o pines spillway flood plane.

A old town square back canoe with a 3.3 merc...used 9 on motor tanks going up (run the motor half throttle and we would stay in one spot and kat would tie off for refills) and 3 tanks of gas on the way back..water was doing almost 20 mph in places.

Anybody know of a good lake with a good river/creek feeding it for motorized boat travel ? Lake whitney/brazos was second best. We added a gheenoe boat with a 15 hp merc for our river runs...
