[ARCHIVED THREAD] - visitor question

I will be traveling to El Paso next week for business. Should I go thru all the hassle of checking a firearm on the flight or do you think I'll be ok with out it? Not sure what the local folks thought, I know the news has been talking about boarder violence alot.

I never found it to be much of a hassle to check a firearm for an internal (not international) flight. Sometimes was actually faster than without the firearm 'cause if you let them know you are checking one in they may send you to a checkin without a line.
