Little thunderstorm and barely enough wind to whip the trees around and BOOM, fuse down the street blows. We loose power a lot on this street...every time the wind even thinks about blowing. We have been on the power company for over a year to do something about the trees.
Just venting before the UPS shuts down, wondering if I should drag the genny out of the storage shed and fire it up. Gotta get those basic going again. Ceiling fans, refrigerator, Plama TV, cable box. |

Bitch, ain't it. Are you in the DFW area? That thunderstorm blew across us and although the lights flashed a couple times we made it through with power still on.
If I had an extra $10,000 or so I'd have one of those natural gas-operated whole-house generators installed. Comes on automatically if the power fails, powers all your stuff and will run forever as long as there's gas in the pipes. . . |

Same here in S. Ft Worth.. no power outages though, look on the bright side at least its not 107 deg. It is raining like hell right now in Benbrook. Our power used to go out all the time, but they must have changed some things around recently because it will go out, and then kick back on within 1 second... like the grid recognizes the outage and re-routes power or something. |
