I know some are training, some are thinking, some are even dreaming,.... but who is going!?!?!?!?

I'll be there. Might bring a buddy this year. As for the Gear List check the other BO threads. A lot of people post them. ETA @sholt if you are in the Austin/SA area I'm going to start rucking every other weekend or so. Most likely "or so" because rucking gets in the way of drinking |

I just posted an "I'm turning into a chicken" thread, but the more I think about it, the more I really do want to go...
but the hubby is hoping y'all will talk me out of it so he won't have to go... ![]() so count me as a "tentative." I'll repost when that changes... |

donne3 - that would make you the first woman to do the BOD. Women have talked about doing it before, none have done it. You up for it? that's actually been one of my motivations - how cool would that feel to be the first woman? it's pretty exciting and very humbling, because I know there are some girls in here who are WAY more able to do this thing than I am... in one of the threads, several guys were talking about bringing their wives this year - still the case? |

OK. sfax wants me to make a list of potential skills and equipment needed before we go forward with purchase, but we're gonna do this. it's official. I'm committed. donne3: congrats on your decision to go, but make sure you drag your husband off the couch! I have convinced my wife to go, who is very excited to attend. I think that having your spouse able to commit to the BOD will only reassure that your actual BOD plan will not come as a surprise if we have to bug out. Who else is taking their wife? Or husband!? |

Is it considered bad form to ask for you guys' (and gals) gear list? I dont think its bad form, as I understand your intentions... to find out what to bring. Basically, the BOD is intended to test your plan in case something goes wrong, and you have to get from point a (disaster) to point b (help). This is a test of your plan, load out, weapons, and other equipment not to mention your physical condition. What I took in 2008 was mainly ammo. I quickly learned that my pack was over weight, but I stuck it out. This is not a shooting match, but there will be shooting. Physical condition is another thing that many struggle with. Prepare now! I tell my friends, this is not a competition, but a test against yourself and your equipment. |

If that's the case, I'm tempted to just bring my existing BOB. I don't keep rapelling rope in my BOB 'cause the Boondock Saints casting folks have never given me a call. Do I need to run with freakin' rope? I think the only rope that some bring is enough to attach yourself to your bag, or enough to make a swiss seat. I know that I didn't even bring any rope, just 550 cord. The repelling event had rope for the event. If I had to actually get down from a "cliff" or some type of obstacle I'd probably go around! I suggest you research on this site and others to find more info on what others brought. Your plan will be different from others, as will be your load out. |

I'm moving out of state, thus taking my wife out of the running as first woman to cross the finish line. Sorry to be missing out on this and other TX HTF events. The DE HTF is non-existant (literally). |

Yeah it will be cool. You all doing the Zombie deal down in Conroe this time. Mrs. Nightfighter probably is going to say no. I'll ask though. I'll see if she will come out and support me on this. ![]() with marching band stuff, I don't know that we're going to be able to do that one. |
