| I heard about the Texas state guard at a recent medical conference. I also saw a 70-something page thread about it here. However, I was not able to find many answers and have a few basic questions. What does the job entail? Time commitment? Salary? Responsibilities? Perks? How many of you are part of the Texas state guard? Specific opportunities for physicians or physicians in training? |

There are 4 parts to TXSG Army Air Division Maritime Regiment Medical Brigade (they are the most medically focused, but medically trained folks can serve in any division) Here is the link to the link to the main Medical Brigade site: http://tmb.txsg.state.tx.us/ What does the job entail: Depends on your rank, position, unit mission, ect. Time commitment: The Army and Medical Brigade drill one Saturday a month (8 hours) Air Division and Maritime drill for one weekend a month (16 hours) Salary: No pay unless activated for State Active Duty. We volunteer our time. Responsibilities: Depends on your rank, position, unit mission, ect. Perks: Check here Benefits |
