I've been contacted by an active duty Military person (even has a @us.army.mil e-mail addy) deployed in the sandbox about something I had posted for trade, he's offered exactly what I want, I have what he wants.
It would be a private transaction here in Texas, but he wants a familiy member of his to actually do the deed here in Texas. My first take is that it's perfectly legal since it's a private transaction and the family member taking possession of the item is a CHL holder and able to purchase and own firearms under all state and Federal laws, but I wanted to see what the hive mind has to say....? |

My advice is to Move Forward with one condition. Just make clear you are swapping to the individual who picks up the weapon.
If he then transfers it to someone else with "issues" (domestic abuse, etc...) then it is not your problem. Soldier boy swaps it to relative for "consideration", relative then swaps it to you for your item in trade. Relative then swaps your gun to soldier boy and gives back the consideration. Everyone gets what they want, and you don't have to worry (as I see it) BIGGER_HAMMER

My thoughts exactly, it's one trade I do want some bill of sale or bill of transfer on - made out in the name of the relative who actually gets the goods. |
