My whole family works for State Farm... Dont really have anything bad to say about em. Ive been with them for 13 years on auto. 5 on home. My first auto claim a month ago. Im getting my truck back today. Smacked a curb around 20 mph, obvious bent frame, cracked my aluminum wheel, cracked wheel bearing, they wanted to give less than 500. Anyone who knows anything about cars knows that an upper and or lower control arm and or ball joint would be bad. Obviously more than 500 bucks with alignment. Hail on the roof. EVERYONE around me got a new roof. Said mine is just at my 1k deductible in damage. Never a problem until this year. |

I had Geico auto insurance for over 20 years. I switched to USAA a couple of weeks ago, I will save about $500 a year.
Back when Geico was the Government Employee Insurance company they were great. Geico is still a really good company with great service and low prices but they are just become another insurance company. USAA is relaxing their standards and will probably follow the same path as Geico. But it will probably take them 20 years as well, so enjoy the ride and the saving while you can |
| I hear good things about USAA. On the other hand, I've been a loyal customer of State Farm for 20 years. The only time they gave me any heartburn was when our agent took pictures of our new house and barn for our homeowners insurance. In one of the pictures my six dog kennels were pictured and when the underwriter was reviewing the contract in Austin he/she decided to not write the policy because we had vicious dogs. I wrote State Farm and explained to them that German Shorthaired Pointers were not a breed I would consider vicious and suggested they contact AKC, pointed out the obvious that the dogs were "kenneled' so what would it matter anyway, that my dogs are a hobby and not a living and politely asked them to pull their head out of their ass. They wrote the policy and I'm still a customer for home, life and auto policies. Fortunately we have a very good agent. |

State Farm took over 60 days to pay me for my stolen/torched vehicle. They also originally tried to pay me out with a lower model of vehicle worth many thousands less...because, and I quote: "we couldn't find your model anywhere, so we went with the lower one". It was a civic of which only 15000 existed for each of two years. I found dozens for sale in every single state and gave them the info. They had no response to my inquiry as to why they didn't simply come to a number in between the model they found(Ex), and the known retail of my actual model(Si). That was week 2, I was paid in week 9.
The funny part about this payoff was the rental car. I had insurance to cover 30 days and on the very last evening of the rental a tree from my yard fell onto the roof/trunk and smashed it all to hell. I did my best to recreate the scene from Jackass when they returned the totaled rental. No, I did not purchase additional insurance on the rental, but State Farm had to cover it anyway because it was "an act of God" :) I thoroughly enjoyed the phone call after all was said and done to inform them that we will no longer be needing their services for my new car, mothers car, fathers car, brothers cars, brothers wife's car, and one house. . . . I can only assume they must have been trying to prove I stole it, which of course I did not, nor did I have it planned. It was in an area that numerous cars had been stolen in the last several months and well known to all the local Police(brothers apartment in Woodlands). Stuck Fate Farm! |

does USAA do home/flood/wind insurance in Texas? I'd heard they did not any longer? I have access to USAA being that my mom worked for them. My sister and her husband (1st cav) have them for cars, renters, and some accounts and are happy. I have USAA for home and flood along with car / checking / savings / mortgage. Do not have a specific policy for wind, never thought about it. Now I will have to call and check. Also, have an add on for firearms and jewellery. |

I currently have state farm. |

I am a big fan of USAA...We have everything that we can thru them...I left Navy Federal Credit Union to move to USAA and never looked back...Great place to do bushiness. Steve This is exactly my situation. I thought Navy Federal was good, but they really pale in comparison to USAA. We use them for home and auto insurance, and do all of our banking exclusively with USAA. |

USAA is awesome.
When I researched insuring firearms with them I found that a Valuable Property policy was more hassle than it was worth. The toys are insured by my regular home owner's policy. Yeah, the deductible may be a little higher but I am comfortable with that. |

I have been told that state farm’s home owners policy will not cover firearms accidents, as in if you have a AD that injuries someone your State Farm Policy will not cover it?????
I don’t know this for fact from a agent but have herd this form others? Phil, www.theimpactzonerange.com |

Fuck state farm and their bitch assess. Been rear ended 3 separate times by their policy holders and each time I had to lawyer up just to get them to fix my car let alone any medical bills. Still have back problems to this day because of those wrecks. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Had State Farm for years.... No real issue, but not like I loved them.
Switched to USAA and saved a BUNCH, should have done it sooner.... No real issue, but not like I loved them. Switched to GEICO this year. Saved a little, and little bits matter.... No real issue, but not like I love them. |
