I'm looking for some quality cargo shorts that won't break the bank.  Any suggestions?

I've looked on the 5.11 Tactical website and their cargo shorts seem like they're what I'm looking for.  Any thoughts on the brand?  Good dealer to buy from?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

I have a pair, and they aren't all that great.  My favorite shorts are my carhart shorts.

My favorite are Columbia Half Moon Bay shorts...I've found them to be very durable and the front pockets are big enough for pocket carry, even a full size 1911.

Thanks for the heads up.  I totally forgot about Carhartt.  I've had great luck with their stuff in the past.  I'll give them a look.

I like the idea of the big front pockets, but the Half Moon's are just too short.  I'm 6'4" so an an inseam of 5.75" is just not enough.  Thanks for the input, though.

I'm 6'7", i also feel the inseam pain.

I got a couple pair of Wrangler Hero Original cargo shorts at Target a couple weeks ago.  Just standard cotton, but at $16 not too shabby.  Decent size front pockets as well.  They do not feel cheap.

I had a pair of levis that I liked alot. I liked them so much I wore them quite a bit that when I was getting in to the bed of my truck they tore in the leg. Had them for 2 years.

I'm 5'11" and mostly torso with kind of short legs so the shorts hung well below my knees. Kind of looks like shants. But they were comfortable and I constantly used the cargo pockets all the time.

I just ordered 4 pair of the Half Moon shorts. I'm a big guy, 6' 4" also, and if you wear a 1x to a 5x, and order from their Big and Tall portion of the website, the shorts are 7.5" long, NOT the 5.75 !!

i got some old cargo shorts from Target of the Merona line
they have nice big cargo pockets that can hold AR15 and AK47 mags
they even hold a full sized gun like a glock 17 or 1911.
mine are 3 years old now and still going strong.
i think i paid $12.00 each for them.

This is what you need. Nice large cargo pockets and a think durable cotton. I can get you in a pair for $25. Guess who I work for

Most of the good deals I've had on cargo shorts came from Costco of all places. I got some Union Bay ones I like quite a bit.

Thanks for all the responses.

I just ordered some from LA Police Gear on clearance for $9.99.  At that price, I really couldn't pass them by.  I'll let y'all know how I like them.

+1  Wranglers at Target work the best for me.  Easy to pocket carry.  I bought six pair for the summer.  5.11 makes the legs too skinny on their pants.

I would say Sears Toughskins, or Lee.

Why

Cause I have learned that people would rather guess than read the threads!
