| I'm planning on attending the saxet show tomorrow, as a CHL holder can I carry there or do I have to get the officer at the door to "render it inoperable". |

It is a definite no carry zone. ALL Guns have to be zip tied unless you are a law enforcement officer. Only people I have known to have a negligent discharge have been LEO (not flaming just saying the truth). Good call on screwing the public out of their right to carry. |

Ive been at the Saxet show in Austin when there were NDs, twice! Neither involved any LEOs except those who responded. What the incidents did involve were non-LEOs who were too stupid to follow gun safety rules. In the past, Saxet always had rules against having ammo on your person in the show but it was not posted with 30.06. After the first ND that I witnessed, Saxet added the 30.06 signs. I'm guessing it helped them with liability issues and made it easier to prosecute dumbasses that have NDs at their shows. The public's right to carry ends at the door. Inside of that is PRIVATE and you enter at the pleasure of Saxet and follow their rules. Or you carry anyway and risk arrest. If you don't like it, stay the fuck out. Or start your own gunshow. Make sure you keep those darn NDing LEOs out though. Gringop |

I was at the Saxet Austin shosomeones vendor decided to pull out his concealed handgun that he sneaked in to show off. Shot a round through his table, a box and came very close to shooting the customers foot I was there when that happened. The whole place went dead quiet for like a minute. The bullet went into a box fortunately, and the guy was packed up and escorted out in a few minutes. |

Not saying that LEO's don't have ND's––they do, like normal people––but having been at far too many gun shows where ND's happened, it was always an exhibitor who had the loaded gun which was improperly handled by them or improperly displayed on their table in a loaded condition and fired by someone else who didn't know it was loaded. Every gun show that I'm aware of in Texas is 30.06 posted. Good idea to consider every gun as loaded and never pull the trigger while it's pointing at someone. |

| there wasn't much worth seeing at this one. It seems like a few of the bigger guys that usually had the best prices haven't been there in a while. I did notice that prices are starting to come back down on black rifles. they still are not where they should be, or were about a year and a half ago, but if people are buying them then I sell them for as much as you can. I honestly expected to see some better deals as people who filed for tax extensions I believe those are coming due in October. I though maybe a few folks would be selling some stuff cheap to get the money they may owe uncle Sam. |

I gave up on the "fun" show several years ago.
I still remember the good old days before the beanie baby's, toys, and jewellery were sold. Tables full of military surplus, gun parts, lots of cheap ammo, and bargains if you looked for them. It has turned into a family thing, take your kids and grandparents, baby strollers,..... Hold a family reunion in the isle so that people that came to the gun show to actually buy something can't even get close to a table. .... After Katrina the gang bangers started attending - makes you wish they could do a check for felons at the front door. Then the prices are crazy. Hard to find a good deal. sigh... I am just too old to put up with the B.S. unless I really need something |
