My wife's great uncle passed away a couple of weeks ago. Since she is his closest living relative, she had to handle his affairs. A policy for creamation was prepaid, so that's the way he went. My wife finally went today to pickup the ashes. When I got home, I saw the white box on my computer desk.

I went into the kitchen to fix something to eat and find a much smaller box. Curious, I open it and find a small keepsake urn. Great, more ashes. I close the box to go put it away and realize it's covered with a fine grit.

Well it wasn't breadcrumbs. Some goober got ashes all over the outside of the box. Now it was on my hands which I tried to wipe off on my shirt. It was like fine sand. Finally washed up in the sink.

It didn't completely freak me out or anything, but I don't want the remains of departed family members on my kitchen counter where they'll end up in my ham sandwich or something.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person who encounters weird situations like this.

I doubt severely you've cornered the market on wierd situations, but I must say I've never had the ashes of a dead relative on my PB and J....

As long as his internal temp reached 180 degrees then you've got nothing to worry about.
