 I was surprised when I saw them. Was over at the counter getting the '13/'14 hunting license, took a look for some 22lr (they had none), just happened to look at the bottom shelf and saw 4 brown boxes that said "62 GR 556; FMJ; 1000RDS"...interesting. Checked online real quick for a current price on 855, seemed like an ok deal for having on the spot, no shipping, etc. Why the hell not. Plus I had a $100 gift card to burn, softened the blow.

ETA: I'm guessing they dole out the ammo by weight, I only got 999 rounds (I repackaged into boxes, little bit into mags). Well hopefully I don't need that 1,000th round. |

I'm in Austin. Stopped by 4 different walmart today and none had those 1,000rnd boxes. Two walmarts I spoke to someone and they just gave me the deer headlight look. Told me whatever I see behind the glasses is what they have.
However, all walmarts had this one spot empty.... said $164.00 for 420rnd 62gr xm855f1. If this is true, isn't this cheaper than the thousand rnd box? If I can find it in stock. |

1) I saw about a dozen 100 round boxes of 9mm for $26.95 each at the Farmer's Branch Wal-Mart (on Midway at 635, NW corner) yesterday afternoon. FYI
2) I have a few 200 round cans of linked Portuguese .308 / 7.62x51 but am unsure how they are priced these days. Any advice on pricing? |

The Grapevine academy had 500 round bricks of winchester 22LR today for 21.99 per brick.
I don't know how much they had. The only reason I know they had this is because I was at the counter when the girl brought it out from the back to scan it I was curious about the price. |

Reporting on this a little late sorry.. But about 3 weeks ago, Frisco Walmarts had the Tula BRASS 9mm 100rd value packs for $22 and some change.. picked up a few plastic cans.. going to shoot it in a few days and see how filthy or clean it shoots

As of 10 am on 12/4 Cabelas FTW has CCI blazer brass 9mm in store 14.99 PMC 9mm 11.99 tons of each, 50 round boxes Oh they also had herters 9mm aluminum? steel? 13.99 Good luck tons of 5.56 too, nothing on sale that makes me want to write home about. cheapest was like 9.99?? maybe, did not partake. 62 boxes of 5.7 on the shelf

Looks like this thread doesn't get a whole lot of traffic but I'll share my score anyway...
GT distributors in Austin had 500rd cases of independence M193 (made by IMI for federal) for $179, I got 2 and it came to $389 and some change out the door. Best price I've seen on M193 in a while, guy at the counter said they got in 10 pallets which comes to about a million rounds  so they should have it in stock for a while I would hope.

Up here in McKinney at Walmart I saw a couple boxes of Remington Golden Bullet a week ago or so. They usually get a run of Remington bulk, federal bulk, win/cci/rem boxes of 100... It's not there every morning but it's there almost always on those days and time I mentioned.. Walmart on Culebra and Tezel in San Antonio has 500 rnd tins of 55 gr for $167. Saw I think 6 tins. They also had a tin of 7.62x39 but I don't know the price. They had the 420 rnd ammo cans of 55 gr for $164 and I saw at least 2.
ETA: Today I went by and they had at least two cans of 62 gr (420 rnds each) federal. Still had 55 gr 5.56 and 7.62x39 in stock. I went by last Sunday and they had 22 on a cart. I got 3 boxes. |
