AR-15, budget, non-MIL/non-LEO.

I'm installing the GG&G Quick Detach mounts, front on the sight, rear on the telestock.

Just need something to comfortably carry if and when I need to carry it.  Won't be hunting with it, just range use and home perimeter defense.

There seem to be dozens out there to choose from, but what do you recommend?

I really like the padded VTAC.  Comfortable to carry.  Can quickly adjust length or pull it tight against you so you can use hands for other things.

The best sling I've ever bought was the 2-point Vicker's Combat applications sling.

Padded version of the V-Tac from LaRue.  Worth every penny.

I like the 1907 Sling. It's pretty cheap. There are other, better made versions but at $20, this is pretty easy to do.

I use the sling to steady the rifle while shooting. The 1907 is designed to do exactly that. If you never used a sling to steady the rifle, try it some time. It increases accuracy by orders of magnitude.

FWIW,

Another +1 for Gear Sector slings. I run an ASP, too, but they have a two-point called the GS-2P. You can find it HERE.

There's an army/navy store on Garland Rd in Dallas that sells the cheapie GI slings (2 sliders and the strap) for $4. They carry a bunch of air soft crap too that you have to ignore.

Thanks, I went with the Rocky Mountain Tactical 2 point, quick adjust sling and GGG&G QD mounts.

So far, so good.
