May GOD forever bless the souls of the 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers who lost their lives in the bombing of BLT 1/8's HQ at BIA in Beirut, Lebanon on this date 25 years ago. We who served alongside you will always remember that we owe it to you, our dead brothers, to live our lives as well as we can, if only because you cannot. Rest assured that we will NEVER forget nor EVER forgive.

I'll never forget.

I had just graduated boot camp from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego on 9 September, 1983. This was a gut check into what lay ahead.
