| I am flying out of George Bush Monday morning and will be driving into town. My flight is at 10:00 am. I want to be checked in at 9:00 a.m. I will be coming in on IH 10. Which route should I take? What time should I be driving through Katy to make it to the airport by 8:00 a.m.? |
| You are definitely going to be in rush-hour traffic. The Katy to Loop 610 area is usually pretty congested from about 7AM-8:30AM. Your best bet is to take the Beltway 8 tollway. If you drive past Bass Pro Shop at 7:30AM and take the Tollway then you should be fine with a little time to spare. Of course this all assumes normal traffic and no wrecks. If there is even a hint of rain, give yourself an extra 30 minutes just to be safe. |
| I-10 to Beltway 8/Sam Houston Tollway. If you're going to run into traffic, it will be around I-45 and the tollway. Most of the construction on the Katy Freeway is completed well past the I-10/Tollway interchange and it's much smoother than it has been. They start collecting tolls again this weekend, so it might clear the traffic up a little as well. I can make it from the Dairy Ashford area to an off airport lot in around 45-50 minutes. |
The trick now is to get past highway 6, an amaizingly long delay |
Huh? how is this going to get you to IAH? Take I-10 to Beltway 8 North. you will have to pay two $1.25 tolls. Quarters will help you sooo much, have at least $3.00 in quarters with you double if you plan to go home the same way. Take Beltway 8 to the JKF/IAH airport exit. Go north to the airport. |
