We sent another murder to hell ya'll. Mr. Rodriguez was part of the "Texas 7" gang and killed Officer Aubrey Hawkins during his arrest. As a side note it takes $86 worth of drugs for lethal injection. |
You could not assemble a firing squad that cheap. This is good, who is next? |

I remember that story. That was the one where they broke out of prison, robbed a sporting goods store for guns, killed a cop and then went their separate ways right? I was living in Colorado at the time and if I remember correctly it was like fall 2000, early 2001 when this happened. I think they caught a couple of these guys hiding out in a trailer park in Colorado if memory serves. Sorry, I can't gloat over a man who voluntarily gave up his appeals so that his victim's families could see justice. He made a true act of repentance, and while that doesn't let him off the hook, I can't gloat over it. May God have mercy on your soul. |
December 2000, on Christmas Eve they ambushed and murdered Officer Hawkins. They were all caught in the time period of 21-23 January 2001. So what happens to Patsy Gomez and Michael Rodriguez's father Raul? mm |
| I was in charge of the unit that moved them to court and back. It's nice to see one of them finally make it to coctail hour. I can bet you the Murphy (the biggest puss of all of them) will have to be carried to the deatch chamber. He almost pissed his pants when we would put the stun belt on him. |
Arrest my ass. They ambushed him as he drove up to the rear of a store, shot him as he sat in the seat, then drug him out, took his gun, and ran over him with his own car. |
I bet its satisfying knowing that fucker's dead. |
Well thanks for that. So the guy voluntarily stopped his appeals so that his victim's families could see justice served. I hate it when they do that. I can't gloat after they are executed. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have let him off the hook ever. He died and he deserved to die. But, the fact that he choose not to fight it and volunteered to go is about the only form of penance that he can make. I have no problem with giving him his needle, but now I can't hate him. He managed to salvage a little honor at the end. "Whatever we do, there's restitution to be made," Rodriguez, 45, told The Associated Press in a recent interview outside death row. "But in this situation, the only thing I can do is be held accountable and express sincere condolences." Well, may God have mercy on your soul. |
I guess this happened in Irving eh? Does anyone know exactly where in Irving this took place? What store was it? |
Yup, in Irving....the Oshman's(I think it is now a Sports Authority if it is still open) at 183 and Beltline. link to Irving PD website cityofirving.org/police/memorial-pages/ahawkins.html mm |
Oshmans on 183 |
Yep....That is what I remembered happening. |
You guys need to quit being so anal. I was tring to just give a quick overview post and didn't have time then to go into his motives, tactics, and reasoning. Sorry for not being 100% accurate on the event that took the life of a police officer which is what I thought was the major point. |
If there is anything to be said about this guy is that at least he had some measure of right and wrong left in him, unlike most of those POS. I agree he got what he deserved and I also agree with the may God have mercy on his soul. |
You need to quite being so sensitive. The comment was not a slam on you, but to emphasize the cowardly and brutal way they killed the officer. Hope you get all of the sand out. |

I don't like to dwell on this - pisses me off too much... To be clear on the events check out this link: www.crimelibrary.com/gangsters_outlaws/cops_others/seven/18.html You should also know that Aubrey was a Police Officer prior to working for Irving - rookie in this case is specific to being with that department. He was ambushed, and killed in cold blood. Rodriguez's acceptance of his inevitable death sentence by waiving his appeal doesn't amount to a hill of shit. |
