Hello Ladies and Gents, I have been asked/given permission to create shirts for all the other Hometown forums. I have included a link to a response topic about the shirts I did for Team Florida for the last 3 years. I just need an idea of what you all think of having your own shirts. In general I will most likely be using the state's official mammal as the mascot. I know there are a few states/HTF that have multiple states and official mammal. For you, I will try to include something that represents all of the states in the Hometown on one design. I'm not taking orders yet... but I'm trying to get an idea of interest. The shirts will be offered in Black, Olive Drab and Sand, in sizes from Med.-5XL. I will be posting up the design as soon as they are ready. All shirts will be pre-ordered and pre-paid as all others were done in Florida. The cost will be $20 per shirt + actual shipping via UPS. Here's a link to the responses for the last 3 Team Florida shirts. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=10&t=309126 Here are the designs I've done for Team Florida: ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking, David Mods, if you have any questions, IM me or the Big Guy for clearity. |

Our old unit shirt was Texas, with Red White and Blue and the EGA cut out where Waco is. I would be down with something like Texas with crossed rifles behind it, ect. Or Texas and a black silhouette of an AR with a phrase like "get both" Or Texas and the bolt face (however that would work?) Or maybe a line or two from the Texas Constitution. I for one would like to stay away from cartoons |
I kinda like this idea. Maybe have on the back pretty big covering most of the shirt the outline of Texas with a bolt face as the star for Austin, and then somewhere on the top of the shirt but still in the outline you can put the text. Also just have the same image as on the back on the front but small and in an upper corner, with the text below the image or something. |
|
I would say no cartoons.........BUT, if a cartoon is necessary, make it a horned toad! I'm in for one for sure and might get the Mrs. one as well regardless of cartoon or not. If it's a bolt face on an outline of Texas, please put it at Henderson, TX, not Austin. Austin is full of wackos |
that looks cool for a few reasons |
|
If you need to incorporate a character, a cowboy would be preferable to anthromorphic critters. I sort of like the idea of Clint Eastwood or John Wayne like persona with an AR! Texas is about so much more than Armadillos and Longhorns, really. On the bolt face front, the design needs to be more dynamic than just a bolt on something Texas like or vice versa. Can you come up with a really energetic concept, one that pops without being too kitsch? Hell, if I had more time, I might do it myself...... |
Because it's clean, simple, and attractive. Some people don't like the idea of having a bulging muscled armadillo on the Texas HTF shirts. |
Definitely would be in for one if you could incorporate that into it... |
Hey, at least I had an idea. I wish everyone would contribute instead of just griping about my suggestion. |
+1000 BTW, your skill on the other designs is evident - great work. I just know I wouldn't wear anything garish or cartoonish. |
|
I'll be good for a couple if they're up to the quality of the Florida designs. I don't mind the cartoonish looks of 'em-- they looked damned nice to me; especially the one with the gator in black wearing the boonie. So what are we down to? Armadillo? Check. Oversized Texas? Check. AR in the design? Check. Sounds pretty good already. Maybe toss in a little bit of the "Official Camo of ARFCOM" and put some Multicam in the design... Too bad Shiner Bock is TM'd. I wouldn't mind having that in the design. |
What about the bolt face on the front corner chest, and on the back, the outline of Texas with crossed black rifles inside it. On top of the outline "Don't Mess With.. and at the bottom "Team Texas" Inside the outline, have AR15 on the left side of the crossed rifles and .com on the right side?
|
...and armored, and leperous.. I think the dillo would be a good theme. How about a leperous, zombie armadillo wielding an AR saying "All your states belong to me" Just a thought. PS. If your gonna include a longhorn, it better be on a barbecue spit. |
I like it!!!! There have been a lot of good suggestions, but this one is my favorite! I'm in, and I echo the no cartoons, yes to Big Texas, and other sentiments. No bluebonnets, and no vajayjay-looking longhorn variations. |
I was thinking the samething myself |
|
Don't worry about the sports mascots... they're off limits; copyrights. However...Out of all the ideas, I've not heard one referring to your alls most Famous Armed patriotic event.... The Alamo. [:// I thought for sure someone would have mentioned it. Please keep in mind ladies and germs... I have 33 HTF designed & one artist. These will be done... but it may take a couple months to get them ready for copy. Thanks for the ideas & your support & complements on my Fl designs! David |
