Erik Here from Katy. Looking to purchase my first .223 and I'm kinda drawn towards the Sig 556 Swat. What are your thoughts on this peice. Thanx |

Also in Katy, here. FWIW, I say get a Colt. For a first AR, I have taken to recommending the Colt LE6520. Its usally in stock somewhere. Its significantly less expensive than the venerable 6920. Its light and handy. It teaches the fundamentals of how to operate the iron sights. Its a Colt. I have just about come to the conclusion that a 6520 with the upper receiver swapped for a flat-top is the perfect AR. Like I said, I'm in Katy as well, if you want to play with one. |

My first AR 15 was a mil-spec, LE Tactical 6721 Colt, then a Colt LE 6920. A Colt 6520 might be more available at this time and may be less$. Go Colt. you will be glad you did! No problems with either of mine. "Quality makes it a Colt" There are others, but the Sig 556 has not appealed to me. My first experience was a Colt in the military. "This is my rifle...

Welcome to the board. MAST Solutions is in "Katy" as well. I agree with the majority on Colt. I believe that whatever "tool" you decide to own; you must find the firearm that you can depend on...on the "range" and "off." We train allot at ASC, so if you see us let us know who you are when your down there. Best, MB MAST Solutions www.mastsolutions.com |

do you want a 5.56 or a .233 a 5.56 will shoot a .233. 223 will not shoot a 5.56. I just ordered a stag model two for about $805 (after shipping) . Colt or LMT would cost atleast 1200. I did not want to build one due to everytime I pick and choose my parts the rifle would cost me 1200-1500 dollars, those "upgrades" do add up a lot! So it all depends on what you want from a rifle. as long as you do your research on the company before you buy. |
