Well after being here for 12yrs finally went to the Salt Lick Well i did not care much for it....just not that good  I have been to Cooper BBQ in Llano and it was much better.   |
I think that I like Bert's BBQ off of Far West, much better then others in town.. Not the best I've ever had though, but the best from a resteraunt. |
Damn now I have pit envy..

The Salt Lick was good 15 years ago when it was all about the food. Now it's just an Austin Yuppy hangout. The food has taken a back seat to being "Trendy". Too bad. It was great once... The Luling City Market has good Q, but I wouldn't make a drive for it. Most central Texas towns have a little hole in the wall Bar-B-Q resturant with excellent Q. You just have to look around. Just stop and ask a couple of the locals. They'll point you in the right direction. |
