I'm turning 21 May 10th, first order of business...CHL class.  I have no record other than a speeding ticket (paid on time) so no worries there.  I'm looking for a place in/around North Dallas that will be somewhat of an economical (college kid), but still a "decent" place to do my classes.  Any of yall older wiser gentlemen have suggestions?

I'm not really a fan of Bullet Trap in Plano, but it was close to me and I did mine there. They f'd up my fingerprints and I had to wait an extra 2 months, but in the end I did get my CHL.

I am less than supportive of that place, but thank you for the reply.

Yeah, Target Master in Garland also has classes, but they're 150 bucks as opposed to 130 at BT. I've always had a pleasant experience there. They don't seem to care about rapid fire like the BT people.

I fully agree with not supporting the asshats at BT.

I did my last renewal at Texas Handgun Academy on Plano Rd, and highly recommend it.

Their website lists new chl classes at $110.

TJ is now teaching CHL at Elm Fork Range.
Next one is May 24. Always good to help out TJ. Tiger Valley CHL link
Also, I think Texasinvestigator is an instructor, not sure where he teaches out of.

This is a lil bit of a drive but the cheapest in the area i think:

Both Bass Pro Shops in Garland and Grapevine offer CHL courses too.

No matter where you go, don't expect the state to be very fast in issuing your license.  It will take the max time.

I know its not close to Dallas but Elk's Castle does everthing in one day.
