You should have your ballots by now. If you have any questions let me know. Some people running don't like EBRs and think we only need wheel guns and bolt guns.
It is important for everyone to vote. We have around 400-450 members. We don't know for sure due to some questionable activity by a couple of board members. We usually have less than 200 ballots turned in. There are a lot of members who only shoot at the range a couple of times a year and never bother to vote.
With the trouble we have been going through it is important to vote.

Let me know either here, via PM or email if I can answer any questions.
For the members here who have not met me you can contact Mojo and a few others who are members of both the site here and the club. I believe he will vouch for me.

I have some questions:

Who are the people running who don't like EBRs and think we should only have wheel guns and bolt actions?  I don't want to vote for anyone like that by mistake.

What is your position on the current 5 round limitation on semi-auto rifles?
If elected, will you vote to do away with that limitation?

I agree that it is important for everyone to vote, and to understand who and what they are voting for.

There are a couple of incumbants who feel like that and several other, older members who are not on the board who have influence with friends on the board. Without knowing you personally I am hesitant to flame someone running. I can, however, recommend myself, Preston and Jud for the board. I have osme serious problems with threats made by the current secratary that would cause problems for the club.

I personally do not like the 5 round limit, especially when I am shooting my Garand, but that restriction was made several years ago due to safety concerns. Apparently prople were walking downrange with a round left in the weapon. I don't know why 5 rounds were chosen unless it is because that is the mag limit in many bolt rifles.  I will ask about it but a past president told me that thatdecision was one made to keep us open under a lot of pressure to close us down like Ft.Worth RPC did.

That is exactly right! If you ask around at any of the matches you will hear who is responsible for most of the trouble recently. Our last President resigned due to possible copyright infringement going on. When it was pointed out the board member in question started a lot of crap ranting at the president and others. He had enough friends on the board that the others were consistantly outvoted. He just got fed up with it. Trust me, it wasn't weakness. After the amount of crap he put up with for as long as he did I really don't blame him. The current president is also a good guy. I have read some emails sent by the main troublemaker. They are bad. If someone said that kind of things to someone's face there would be a lot of trouble.

Jim is a nice guy. Some people think he isn't very friendly but he is just kind of quiet. Do you know him? He lost his wife very recently. We knew she has been fighting for a while and it finally took her.

If you want the names I'll send them via IM. I believe some of his friends hang around here, but I'm not sure. They do seem like prime troll material though.

Haltom City Rifle and Pistol Club. We are a private club and range in Haltom City at Hwy. 121 and Minnis Dr. We are about the last range inside the city limits. Most others are a fair drive away. We have several 25 yard, 50 yard, 100 yard and 200 yard stations, concrete benches. The line is covered and we have an air conditioned/heated break room as well as a training room.
Check out the website. If you are in the Ft.Worth area you should come by.
