This one was 11 pounds at 1.47 a pound.

It didn't look too bad for a non-Texan

I just can't imagine smoking a brisket on a weber.  Looks like it did ok though.   You need a great big pit, not a grill.   With your apparent skills on a grill, you might could come close to Texas BBQ with a real pit.

smoker? that looks like a money trap. I'll take the Weber and it smokes brisket just as good.

I've smoked a mess of them on a Weber.  It works fine, if you know what you are doing.  In fact, I have cooked just about everything on one.  Ever cook mac and cheese on a Weber?

You are limited to the amount of meat you can put on it, but if that is a problem, just get another one.
