I was trying to find the information posted a while back about the legalities of transferring and shipping a firearm between individuals within the state.

Appreciate the help.

What's your question?

No FFL required if in state (both residents of TX).

I was just trying to make sure that I had it right.  I had previously done my research and printed the specific regulations that stated that it was legal to conduct individual to individual sales and shipping within a state.  Additionally, I had read the same thing on this forum and wanted to get a warm-fuzzy because I may be doing a sale within the state that will require that it be shipped.  Just want to make sure everything is legit.

Any advice?

Are you shipping to an individual?  If so how will you handle $?

Handgun or long gun?

...  A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. The Postal Service recommends that long guns be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun.

+1, you have to use a private carrier for handguns, but still no FFL required.

edit - apparently you are legally sappost to tell the common carrier that you are shipping a firearm and from what ive seen most common carriers will only ship to ffls

(B8) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier? [Back]

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
