"It's insane," says one Dallas officer, who asked not to be named. "They basically destroyed the concealed gun law. We're letting drug dealers with Glocks under the seat go and say have a nice day. In the past we could have charged them at least with a weapons violation and confiscated the gun. It would still be illegal for a drug dealer to have one if he is in the commission of a crime. PLUS, if they are felons, they are in violation still. One of my customers whom is a police officer told me that he likes the new law. He said if he ever ran into trouble during a traffic stop, an honest citizen that is armed may be more likely to stop and help. |

So, if I understand these"distraught" officers and the district attorney right, if I got caught for whatever reason at Wal-Mart carrying all I have to do is claim "I forgot my money and was walking back home to get it?" I do live only a half mile from my local Wal-Mart and if I did forget my wallet it would be better for my health and the environment to walk home and leave the truck parked.
