I'm trying to keep names & faces together - Between screen names, real names, and my difficulty remembering names in general I can use all the help I can get! |
Such a cutie!

I had never rappelled before and it was not difficult to do. Get good at? I have no idea... you'd just have to do it a bunch. |

Just got back to the house for a day, headed to Luna Rd. to do some welding for the next two days then back to Waco to finish the Precision rifle class. John Tillman is giving me a break at the range while I weld in Dallas. Long range class is going great, the wind kicked ass at 1K today, 15 mph full value off the tower. Just wanted to thank everyone who came out. For the few who didn't make it all the way through don't feel bad, it is better to have tried and failed then not to try at all. Everyone showed a lot of heart. Last year we have 4 make the route. this year we had 17 make it. It was hot and I did everything I could to make it more difficult with the challenges. We had more finish this year then ever before and guys looked in a lot better shape starting out. I really think most could have gone another five miles. Thanks again and I hope all the feet are feeling better. T.J. |
Thank you very much for the opportunity and for opening your facility for this type of an event. We had a great time and are ready for next year. The Shooting in the Rain SUCKED. Very nice stage though to get us all soaked. I had rain gear, but chose not to waste the time pulling it out. I am also excited about getting signed up for some classes in the upcoming months. I feel I can really benefit from the instruction. Any thought to trying a winter BugOUt this year???????? PLEASE. A year for the next BugOUt is entirely too long of a wait. Not sure if I can handle it. Thanks again for putting on a truly awesome event and getting the sponsors to donate some amazing awards. Your grilling skills are outstanding as well. |
Sounds like life is busy!
Thanks TJ - the Bug Out Drill is gaining quite a following. A lot of people I talk to know about it, and at least one is planning on signing on for next fall. |
| Any thought to trying a winter BugOUt this year???????? If T.J. wants to do it, then fine. I live in Texas for the warm, hot, occasional snow.... but cannot stand cold. I will set up a winter B.O., but will not stand out there and R.O. in the cold. You runners can stay warm, but the rest of us (I) have to stand around and wait. Maybe if you have to sleep in a tent without a sleeping bag the night before....... winter stages.... thinking... |
Whatever you can come up with, I'm game. Sounds kinda like your whining a little bit. A good pint of peppermint schnapps will keep you plenty warm as you wait for us to come around to the stages. A winter bugout was mentioned last year, but it was more of a deal where we had to hike out to the backcountry the night before, set up camp, and carry everything with us. Then 2 different classes on Saturday. I was very interested in the tracking class he had talked about doing. Not such the marathon that the BugOUt is, but would still be fun. The cold makes for a completely different environment. ......Or, if TJ did want to make it a marathon type of event again, I would definitely be game. |

My Mean Uncle Brett is kinda that way sometimes. Kinda like when you hit the Armor Plate for the paint ball gun, he gets a little testy. Thanks TJ for another great event. There was a lot stiffer competition this year. Even though more physically challenging stages it added a higher level of fun factor. Everything was laid out much better this year and the staff was really great. Some reason Brett would always take extra time in giving me my scorecard back before ltting me go. It was really good to see more people finish this year but that just means that TJ will just step it up another notch. This was a good draw of people that had never been to the range. We have met a lot of great people and some were of them were even treated to the verbal abuse of Lawdog. For the entertainment of those who recieved such treatment, they can enjoy the fact that Pickett's dog (who is well behaved) almost tore him a new ass first thing Sunday morning on the way back from the shower. For those who noticed the little flags on the trail, that marked the spots where Lawdog puked. Great job to all who finished. Andrew and Brad did an execptional job this year in finishing in 1st and 2nd. Look forward to seeing everone around Tigervalley though the year. Airone - Jody Gilmore |

Once again the highlight of my year! TJ's crew was great and the challenges this year were outstanding. From the waterhose in your face to rappelling 50' down a tower and ringing steel at 550 yards Jeff <----- already planning for next year and trying to figure out what future classes work with my schedule |
I didnt see you there |
Talk to TJ if you guys are interested in a rappelling class. |
| With all that went on I forgot to say great job to those who those who did the rappel, which was everyone. Getting over a natural fear of falling and doing something you have never done before takes a lot of guts....I bet half of those who did it had never been on a rope before. It might not seem like much but getting a 30 seconds of instruction, then being told "trust me you won't fall", and backing off a 30 foot tower takes balls. |

Such a cutie!
