Just saw on Fox news that Chopper 4 crashed near Joe Pool lake dam. All onboard walked away. These things seem to happen in multiples these days.

ETA. Local fox 4 calling it a hard landing while showing chopper on its side in some trees.

Wow.  I haven't seen that story yet.  Thanks for the heads up.  Too many chopper wrecks in the last week.

Let me be the first to add.  With a few rivets, total turbine rebuild and some paint - that will most assuredly buff right out (but will cost a buttload).

Many rotary wing aircraft are designed so that parts of the structure will break off during impact to dissipate energy.  The seats in the airplane are probably trashed too, the frames are designed to absorb shock and eventually collapse to slow acceleration.  As long as you don't nose in or catch on fire, you have a relatively good chance of survival with minor to moderate injuries.

Given the area it went down in I'm surprised it didn't end up in the middle of a pot field. Glad everybody was OK.
