I have had many requests to do the Black Rifle Convention.  DPMS has jumped on board with the idea and has offered to teach an Armorers course during the event.  They stated that it would be at a discounted rate.  I told them I would ask and see if we had an interest in this venue.  Obviously we are looking for other sponsors for the event, that would include holding your own shoot with the major prize.  Let me know what you guys think.  Thanks T.J.

Tiger Valley has a firm date of October 26-28, 2007.  Cost of the event is $65.00 pre-register and $75 the day of the event.  Daily passes are $35.00.  There is no charge for those attending the Armorers class.  Vendors need to contact Tiger Valley for sponsorship details.  DPMS is on board for the Armorers class, they can be contacted on the DPMS web-site for details.

Interesting.  This would be at Tiger Valley?

Any idea of an approximate cost of the armourer's course?

I will post details as we get them.  My idea for this is a gathering place for black rifle shooters to talk, buy, trade and meet others of the same mind.  We will have open shooting and lots of side matches sponsored by vendors.  You can shoot from contact distance to 500 yards.

Those wanting to display goods can set up a simple Pep boy 12X20 cover and put tables under it.

Absolutely. Reserve a camping spot for ILL and me. He's probably gonna be lonely if I don't show up.

If you do this, you ought to get bigger exposure than just the TX HTF. It could be a resurrected form of Gunstock. Think big!

That sounds great!   An amatuer (and real vendor) swap meet, meet and greet, shooting, what else can we ask for!?

Oh, I know!  FOOD!  Depending on the number of folks, we could do BBQ fairly easily.   I would be willing to help out for sure. I catered a buddy's wedding reception last week.  We cooked 7 briskets and 30lbs of sausage.  Brisket, sausage, chicken, pork loin, etc...?  I have been by your range hundreds of times going back and forth to the deer lease but I have never actually stopped so I don't know what sort of amenities you have.   Extra cost is usually reasonable (maybe $6-$8 per person depending on what type of food).  No, I'm not in the catering or cooking business, I just enjoy doing it.

sounds good,

just a reminder, single dads get their kids the first, third, and 5th weekend of the month, so the 2nd or 4th would be best for those.

Also, might put this into the General Discussion.

Should be another great time.

How about non black rifle toys?   The class III type?   I should have my new subgun by then.  Can we shoot other toys or just the black kind?

Actually, as long as my "domestic situation" doesn't change between now and then, I will definately be there.  As of right now, my schedule with my daughter will work out where I can go but the lawyers/court could change that by then.  As long as they don't, I'm there.

Any chance DPMS will bring the "Black Cat Express"?   If my schedule stays clear, I would be up for the class.
