I'm sure it's been asked a million times but I don't have access to the archive until I get my new credit card, but where is a good place to take a CHL class in Houston? The closer to downtown the better. I'd be interested in only professional classes where they do all the paperwork and I'd just have to sign. ![]() -Thanks |

I took my class from Sam Pruett, Jim Pruett's son. I heard an advertisement for their CHL class this morning. I thought they said they had one this Sunday (Apr. 1st). Carter's Country also has classes. If you want to stay in Houston, Top Gun probably does classes as well. Plan on staying ALL DAY when you take your class. Mine started at 8 AM and finished around 7:15 PM. What I was most pissed off about was that it was a beautiful Sunday, and I was stuck inside all day. The shooting part is first for about 2 hours, and everything else is classroom. Think of it as CHL Boot Camp. Good luck mate. |

If you don't want to or can't put in the 10-hour day, Top Gun does it broken into 2 consecutive evenings for 5 hours each - it's pretty convenient. Plus they have very nice facilities. ![]() |
+1 on TG. First Class place with average CHL class fee's, though I found the range fee's kinda high. Regardless it is a real nice place. If you are a gun person and live in Houston its worth the trip. |
I did my CHL class at Marksman in South Houston. No complaints. Since then I've gotten to know the instructor at the Texas City range. He's is a great guy. I'm thinking of renewing there. |
