I am located in the San Antonio area and am wondering if anyone knows of a Gun shop that buys used guns.  I am not wanting to go to a pawn shop because they will lowball me.  If anyone could give me some info it would be greatly appreciated.  Is there also somewhere I can go to get a fair value of the weapon

Thanks for the input. Here is what I have

S&W 686-3 6" .357
unknow round count( I put 100 through it)
It has very tight cylinder and adjustible rear sights. I currently have it on the EE but I think my price is way off, so any help would be appreciated. So what Do you think its worth?

Thanks,
Pete

You want fair value?  Post it here and ask what people think it is worth.  You will do better in a private sale than you will in ANY gun shop that has to make a profit.

+1

Why take $300 for a used Glock when you could sell it yourself for $400 - $450?

I would ask $400 for that one if it was mine, I think the 6 inch barrel makes it not quite as easy to get rid of as the 4 inch.

see i was thinking the other way.  the 6" is more usable.  a 4" is a little short for all but selfe defence.

$400.00 is a fair price for a good used gun like this.  i would give you that much if i lived in Sa.

you will be lucky if you can get $300.00 from a pawn shop or a gun store. don't kid yourself...  the gun sore will low ball you just as bad as the ps.

Yep - I;d say $400 would be a fair price.  My Dad had one just like that one.... I just hate revolvers (except 44 magnum) or I'd be talking to ya.

Thanks for the input.  I got it in trade a few months ago and was told the value was around $450 but I wanted to be sure.  Once again thank you fellow Texans for the info.

and you might get $450.00 try to buy one new and see how much they are.
if you look at most gun show tables you will see any used gun is worth more than a brand new one

When trying to value a used firearm, I check to see what they are going for on GunsAmerica and GunBroker.
