Have you tried cleaning the chamber with a chamber brush?  I like to clean mine with brake cleaner and the brush.

Thats at least what the problem sounds like.  Hopefully someone in that area will be able to help you out if not.

I can tell you where NOT to go b/c of my bad experience with them... DO NOT go to the Arms Room/Holland Gunworks!!!

I would suggest seeing Coz_45 (Randy Cosby) or Murdock(Texas Tactical Gear - I think he's in your neck of the woods) I met them at the last show in the GRB...Randy worked on my AR-15 he knows what he's doing...

Hope this helps

Thanks. I will skip the Arms Room. Actually, that's not the first time I've been told to skip that place...lol.

Have you called Jeff at CMMG? He will get you taken care of. IIRC just after the ban CMMG was using DPMS barrels and the chamber need to be polished.

I want to say that they suggested using a chamber brush, SAE 10W-30 motor oil and chuck the cleaning rod into a variable speed drill. polish the chamber for a min or two.

Even the new CMMG barrels that are not made by DPMS have a tight chamber and need a 500rnd break in.

Also, you're not shooting wolf in it are you? That also causes problems due to the tight chamber and some out of spec rounds.

Call CMMG!!!!

Vandenberg Custom, he is right by Elington AF base on Hwy. 3.  Does excellent work and is highly recommended.

Careful with that drill.....but, I'll be able to look at it one night next week if you like.

It sounds like extractor or a bad/dirty chamber.

One question, does it do it with all magazines that you try or do you just have the mag that  came with the rifle?

Look at the lips of the magazine also. if they are shiny from wear, your mags could be contributing to your difficulty (If they say Singapore on the bottom of them, use them for targets and try most any other mag).

soowah, I have not called CMMG yet. I really do not want to deal with the hassles of shipping. I have no doubt that CMMG would help me if I asked though. I would just like to get it fixed local. WOLF? Heck no.

COZ, I've tried several different mags with the same results. Thanks!

I've got a couple of different leads close to home that I will check out tomorrow.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies!!
