Hi guys. I'm looking at buying some property in the rural outskirts of Abilene,TX and was wondering what the gun laws were like there in TX? How hard is it to get a CCW license??? Are there any laws against AW's and high-cap magazines??? Any waiting periods when you buy a handgun or long gun??? Is TX Class 3 friendly??? THANKS, Vic |

Thanks, Starduks, for the info! Yeah, I know TX has got to be a better place than CA, any day of the week. I'm originally from FL and you know why they call FL "the gunshine state"! The only reason why I came to CA was because of a job. Big mistake! I'm about to the point where I'm ready to let the job go for a better place to live. I need to move to a place with lots of peace and quiet, low crime, where people are friendly, where there aren't any gang members, and where you can freely own guns. Plus an old buddy of mine lives in Austin and is going to be moving up to the Grapevine/DFW area and we've got alot of shooting to catch up on if I move to TX! THANKS, Vic |

Thanks Starduks for the info. Hey Texasrattler, I'm looking at places probably around your area. I'm looking at property at/around Albany, Clyde, Denton, Lawn, Bradshaw, Winters, Shep, Nolan, Anson, and Corinth. Ever been to any of these places??? What's the land like around those places??? Green trees and brush or barren with few trees??? THANKS, Vic |

Vic, Plan out your move..then GO FOR IT. DO IT. Check out areas with geo-survey maps and/or aerial photos on line. They have darn good resolution if you are looking for trees, brush, tanks, etc. My family and I are shuttling between Texas and Ohio, in "the big move," and will retire soon to Uvalde. We got sick of the crime, unfriendly/nasty neighbors, lib-tards, and general decay of Ohio. The busted up roads, bridges, and general "burned out" areas of central inner-cities didn't help much either. Look like Berlin a la 1945. When you finally plant your feet in Texas, breathe that clean, free, fresh air, thank God for decent neighbors, and see Texas pride, you think you was in heaven! |
