| Does anyone teach a defensive handgun course similar to Front Sight in the Houston / San Antonio area ? |
Ask him about carbine training too. I've been trying to attend one there for months. |
I'd jump on the opportunity to train with Clint Smith in a hearbeat, but $900.00 for a three day class is a bit steep. I don't think he's going to get too many students at that price. Tactical Response was putting on several classes in Dallas last year at $325.00 for two days and the majority of students enrolled cancelled when they found out there was an additional range fee of $25.00 per day. Same thing happened with Max Joseph's Dallas tactical medical class; the course was priced around $350.00 and the range owner wanted an additional $70.00 per student range fee. Needless to say, most of the participants backed out and the class cancelled. |

Try KR Training just east of Austin. The AT Weekend is an excellent course. www.krtraining.com |

I would look at Jeff Gonzales's schedule. He comes to TX regularly. Also Gabe Suarez developed much of the material that is now taught at Front Sight. He was on staff there early on. Although I would consider Jeff and Gabe's material to be more progressive that Front Sight, which sometimes gets burdensome with old-school dogmatic weaver stance ala old Gunsite. Front Sight does do a few things right, though. You will definitely fine tune your gun handling and marksmanship there. Wes Lahullier is top notch and if you can arrange private training with him at Front Sight, definitely do it. |
