I just picked up a Imbel FAL, it will not feed, FTF, I tried all the normal fixes, less drilling the gas port. Any one know of a FAL gun smith in or around San Antonio ?
Thanks,

What normal fixes did you try?

Possible problems:  Mags (but least likely), close the gas port knob to allow more gas to cycle the action.  I don't think you need to drill the gas port.

The gas regulator, I tried all open to all closed with same effect. I broke the gun down, cleaned the gas tube and piston, changed the spring,  the gun is short stroking, meaning the fired round comes about one inch  out of the chamber then the bolt slams it back into the chamber, I even tried a different bolt.

There can be a couple of problems.

The gas regulator may be farked up or you may have a gas tube that has a leak in it.  Seen it happen on a buddy's FAL.  He still hasn't fixed the damn thing, after a full year!!!

The tubes you can find pretty cheap, but the regulators you may try Brownells (doubtful) or you may have to go to Numrich and you will pay out the ass there.

I agree with KBolts, try replacing the gas tube and regulator.

Check Entreprise for metric parts.
