I was here in Houston at the place who has the contract to install all the Lights for the majority of the Police agencies down here.     While there I saw some spiffy new Police cars.  I was suprised to learn that 75 of them have DALLAS POLICE decals on them.   They are due to be shipped out soon.  All Brand new 2006 Impalas.

Are they the standard blue and white cars with Whelen Code 3s on top?  I know they've been looking at a new paint scheme, and new light bars.

DPD still buys CVPAs, just not as many as they used to.  Madeline Johnson is still rated high on my Dallas dumbfuck list over that Ford lawsuit thingie.

I'd like to see DPD get Chargers and Magnums.

I wonder if the lack of Crown Vic's has anything to do with the proposed "no chase" policy?

There is a place called Cop Stuff that does work on emergency vehicles around here and I've several of the new MOPARS there.  They were the wagon looking body style (just went brain dead on the name) and were wicked. These were all black with twin spot lights and the low profile LED light bar on top with almost too many strobes placed almost anywhere you can think of.  They will get your attention.

I've seen a couple of Dodge Durangos there too but haven't seen what they are doing to them.  Big red suckers so I assume they were for somebody's FD.

I saw three old late 90's Chevies setting out back there one day last week. They were gone before I got back to see if they were for sale.

They were White with blue stripe.

I did notice some Intrepids and some Chargers....couldnt tell which agency they were for though.  I guess they could have been for Dallas, but they didnt have stripes yet

Huh?  DPD still has pursuits.  There was one last night behind my house on 635.  They're always chasing somebody.

That would be the Magnum police package.

here's a real small dept between Dallas and Denton that has 3 of them with the Hemi V-8s.  They say theirs are the pursuit package models, and man do they fly!

Here's a paint scheme and light bar DPD played with starting a few years ago.

It made it on to all of the Camaros, and atleast two CVPAs(however the CVPAs had the standard Whelen Code 3s).  Officer Dolores happens to drive this unit.

Here's the way it used to be.  This is one of the mayberry Sheriffs Dept cars from The Andy Griffith Show.  This one is stored at Hicks Field north of Saginaw, Texas.  One of my distant cousins from up in Indiana has one of these as well.

I know the little town of Oak Point (just west of Little Elm) has at least one Magnum and one Charger.  Don't know if they still have any of the Durangos they used to drive.

another reason Dallas is getting new cars is the fact that the ones they have suck. Most of them run off of alternative fuel. They take off like a worn out go cart. most of them are in the shop all the time...

Its in Denton County.  In the area of FM1171 and US 377, but I dont know the name of the town.  Oak Point does sound familiar.  I used to see them out at Quail Creek shooting.

Yeah, that's standard DPD outfit now.  I cringe every time I see one, but that's because one of the few times I've ever been on the business end of a pistol has been when DPD drew down on me and some friends in a parking lot headed to our cars.

Wrong place, wrong time, and this is about 10 years ago when I still lived in Houston.  A bunch of us from all over had come to visit a friend and go to First Saturday.  We met at his apartment complex and someone in the complex not associated with us was popping fireworks.  Someone reported it as gunfire, and two DPD cruisers showed up right as we were walking to our cars at about 3 AM.  Then lights came on and it was "GET DOWN!  GET DOWN!  HANDS ON YOUR HEAD!  DO IT!  WHERE IS THE GUN?!"  After 20 minutes of searching us all to find no guns, knives, nuclear weapons, or anything else, they then asked us why we were in the parking lot so late.  They didn't like our First Saturday answer, and they proceeded to search the car of the guy who had actually opened is up to get in.  He had a couple grand worth of used electronics, computers, and business equipment that he had planned to sell, and they were very interested in that.  Fortunately, he had receipts for everything, and that didn't seem to make them happy either.  Eventually they just let us go because we had done nothing wrong, but they were really jerks about it.  They told us that if they saw us again, they would arrest us without hesitation.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

Oak Point is in the area of US 380 and Naylor Rd.

I'm just saying I see them in that area when they go to the gun range over there.  It has been about two years since I've been up there.  They arent part of Flower Mound.  When they leave the range, they go north on either 1-35W or north on 377.
