Hello Lone Star State!
I will be visiting the Dallas area on Friday the 9th till Sunday the 11th of next month.
I was wondering what the locals would recommend as far as sightseeing and or just fun stuff to do.
Any suggestions would be welcome...

There is a lot of cool stuff to see. You can go to the downtown West In. They have cool restaurants and bars and even live music and clubs. You can visit the Reunion Tower and even dine out in the restaurant they have up there. I‘ve been there and its nice. Try the Dallas Aquarium in downtown as well, never been there but I heard its cool. I do not know your situation but there is a lot of gentlemen’s clubs as well., just thought I throw that in.

Good luck

By reading his post, it seems he will be here in December, long before LeonUK is coming.

I'd definitely recommend the Dallas Aquarium downtown but would advise against Reunion unless you've got money burning a hole in your pocket...  It's a beautiful place, with an incredible view, but it's pretty pricey...  I'd also suggest going to a couple of wineries in Grapevine (a suburb between Dallas and Fort Worth) for tastings...  all depends on what you like...  if you like ice skating, you can hit the Galleria - it's beautiful this time of year - or if you do go to the Dallas Aquarium, you can ice skate at the Plaza of the Americas downtown, too...

what's your favorite thing to do?

I don’t know?

I have not been out and about lately, between the wife and the boy (4.5 year old), and work (6 days a week), I really don’t get out much any more.
I love to shoot my AR's and save up for our Blastfest's we do in IL. 4-5 times a year.
But with the WIFE aboard and the little guy still afraid of the noise (gun go BANG), I am not sure what I was interested in.
I do think that the aquarium and arboretum both sound like nice family oriented things to do...
Also I will be visiting Bass Pro Shop and maybe some Night Time activities with the WIFE in we find a babysitter.
I do want to visit downtown and see the Grassy Knoll, and maybe find Strokers Dallas just for kicks...

We will be there next month (DECEMBER) from the 9th mid day till the 11th mid day.

Thanks to all that have responded to this posting... I plan on setting up some sort of loose itinerary so that when we get to Dallas I can surprise the WIFE with some neat stuff to do.
We will be flying in to DFW airport and staying just North West of the airport at some huge resort hotel complex...I need to find out the name...

Once again, thanks to all that have posted any suggestions, they are all appreciated!

Sounds like the Gaylord, just west of Bass Pro Shop.  You can shoot at Bass Pro Shop, BTW.

LeonUK was his moniker. He will be here in first part of Jan. I am going to set up a DFW dinner the weekend of the 7th, but I figure I post that after Christmas.

Joe, Gaylord is pricey, but nice.  The Lodge is a gentleman's club.  They do have poker games there on Sunday afternoons.

The WIFES company is paying for us to come out...very nice of them to do that!
I think I will suggest some of the ideas to her on the plane ride over, we will have about 3 hours of fly time to get there.  I will probably print out some of the info with maps for us to talk about.
Is the LODGE up-scale, or regular strip club?
What is alowed there?
I went with my wife on her birthday this year and got a bunch af girls to dance for her, I think she liked it!

If you don't mind a little drive, Cabelas in Ft. Worth is not far away from Bass Pro Shops, and IMO is much more interesting.

If you're interested, here's how I'd get there from Bass Pro. (I tried google and mapquest, but they didn't recognize Cabela's address. Too new, I guess.)

Take 121 right out infront of Bass Pro south to 114.
Follow 114 west to 170 and take that west.
Stay on 170 until you see Cabela's on your right. (It's hard to miss )
