Yeah, it sure is. We went out and shot it today. The can reduces felt-recoil to a 308 or less. We shot it all day long without feeling anything. Before those 300 WINMAG rounds could really punsh your shoulder, not anymore. |
R_X. IIRC, you have a can for your LR rifle, right? |
Yes, I have a 700/308 with a SWR. |
That's the Accu-Shot Monopod... Mojo has one on his AICS rifle too: Mojo's new & improved rifle |
It's a thing of beauty too...real easy to adjust the rifle. Shooting plates at 400yds today was childs play. Like Renegade said, felt recoil was nill, which was a nice change. The balance point shifted forward, but I think that helps. BTW...it is louder than a suppressed .308, but it's more of a loud hissing sounds vs. a boom. Kinda like a loose air compressor hose... |
I tried the Accu-Shot monopod and sold mine, I just didn't like it as well as a rear bag. |
We didn't shoot side-by-side...not much of a chance today. My initial reaction is mine is louder. We'll probably hit a 1000yd range soon. My POI change was 1MOA high and right at 100yds. Cool part was setting up the spotting scope behind the shooter and watching the bullet wake in the air. Real easy to see. |
Are you serious? I've seen it shooting at the Hun Farm with you at 900 yards. I guess it's like those 3D puzzles, it might take you a while to see, but then you will suddenly see it... I sent you a video. |
Yes. We originally had the spotting scope off to the side about 4-5 yards. Nothing. Then he shot 50BMG, so I moved it right behind him to avoid the blast. We left it there when he switched back to 300WM, and that is when I saw it. You pick it up somewhere out at 200+ yards or so, just around the peak of the arc, then it starts coming down and BLAM! right on the swinging plate. MOJO, I have never shot my 700 without the can, so I am not sure of POI changes. I will test it next time, as I am looking to swtich to new ammo and will have to repeat my click counts. |
