I moved to Dallas a couple of months ago, and I recently tried to contact the Dallas Pistol club via email, and by phone.  I still have yet to hear from anyone with the range, so I thought iI'd post my questions here.

If there are any members out there...

What's your impression of the range?

If I wanted memeberships for my wife and I, do I have to pay the initiation fee twice?

Do they allow any trap shooting if you throw your own birds?

How would you gradethe weekend competitions?

I have been surveying Dallas for a good range that has everything (pistol, rifle, shotgun, and arranged shooting events), but i haven't had a ton of luck.

I'd appreciate any help you all can offer.

You can check out the range on Sundays, they have various steel plate matches.  The range allows handguns and .22LR on the rifle range, but no centerfire rifle, which is the only reason I've never joined.

Take a look at Backwoods Traps for all you are looking for.

Good luck,

I live in Addison, so the Dallas pistol club is definetly the closest option for me, but isn't necessarily the best.  Currently I have been shooting up at Bullet Trap Inc in Plano.  It's a good indoor range, but they can only accomodate handguns, so I'm looking for a more practical tactical and fully equipped range.  I'm really looking for the most bang for my buck in the long run.  I don't currently shoot much trap or centerfire rifle, but Christmax isn't too far away and you never know what kinds of firearm goodness Santa will bring this year.  Long story short I dont' want to pay for a membership someplace, and then get more into trap or skeet or finally build my AR and have to look elsewhere for accomodations.

Anybody in my area with the same problem?...or a solution?
